The problem
Compliance debt builds invisibly. A few skipped reports, a few unclear data flows, a few RG controls not properly documented — and then the regulator audits you and you lose your licence. Compliance has to be built into the platform from day one and maintained as a discipline.
Our approach
- Compliance manual — internal control system tailored to the regulator
- Reporting cadence — PLA reports, quarterly returns, annual filings
- Data protection — POPIA + GDPR documentation, sub-processor records
- Audit prep — quarterly internal audits, pre-regulator review
- Responsible gambling — self-exclusion, deposit limits, RG officer training
Deliverables
Compliance manual customised per licence
Templates for every required regulator filing
Internal audit calendar and audit-ready file structure
RG and compliance staff training pack
A typical engagement
Built for the regulator, not against the player.
POPIA Manual (PAIA-aligned), GDPR Article 30 record of processing, sub-processor list, DPA templates, PLA reporting calendars per province, RG training certificates, annual compliance attestation pack.
Questions, answered.
What is a PLA report?
Provincial Licensing Authority reports — recurring filings to the SA provincial gambling boards covering bets placed, gross gaming revenue, taxes, RG metrics and any incidents. Frequency varies by province.
Do you handle the audit itself?
We prepare you for it and run pre-regulator dry runs. The actual audit is conducted by the regulator or their appointed auditor; we sit alongside you to respond.
What about responsible gambling messaging?
We design RG messaging templates (deposit limits, time-spent alerts, self-exclusion flows) in line with the regulator and the operator brand voice — neither preachy nor invisible.
How do you handle multi-jurisdiction compliance?
A core compliance manual with per-jurisdiction overlays. Operators in multiple African markets cannot run a single template — the framework needs to flex per regulator while staying consistent at the operational core.
